Lovelock, NV Summary
Lovelock photo

With the Trinity Range to the north and Humboldt Range to the south, Lovelock sits on what was an old fur-trapper trail, which traveled southwest from Salt Lake City to Reno. From its initial appearance, Lovelock doesn’t promise to be any different from other highway towns, with its stretch of fast-food outlets and rumbling gas stations. Nevertheless its very appellation and unique courthouse creates a sense of curiosity for passing motorists along I-80.

Downtown is the Pershing County Courthouse, an early twentieth-century edifice with a circular courtroom resembling the Roman Pantheon. Designed by a Reno-based architect, the courthouse remains one of a kind.

The nearest airport is Reno- Sparks Cannon International, about 110 miles southwest via I-80.
