"The Library Cafe certainly isn’t quiet as the name would suggest. If you’re going to chat with friends, the Friday night DJ is much too loud. Service is usually fine, but certainly not overly friendly. The food is good. The appeal, for me, is the unique theme. The building was a library in a former life and the bar/restaurant has kept the structure intact. The alcohol at the bar extends to the very high ceilings on glass shelves, and a familiar library ladder is used for those top shelf drinks. There are books around and for some reason, horse and rooster carousel parts are scattered around (Don’t ask, I don’t know why, but it makes for good conversation). My favorite element of the theme is the names of the Martinis (which are huge and a special price of $6.00 on Thursdays). The Martinis are named after famous literary works and authors. Pick your favorite author or your favorite blend of flavors, either way it’s a fun way to order a drink. It’s definitely a local favorite, and I would go there again to have the spinach and artichoke dip, and to try out all the different kinds of martini. Not a place to save a buck, but definitely a fun and tasty place to spend the evening. It’s a little cramped and there doesn’t ever seem to be enough space at the bar, but it’s an experience not to missed."
