The Only Place to Stay in Times Square

Reviewed by TheTripChick on January 01, 2008

TheTripChick's rating:

"We stay at the Marriott Marquis for an annual convention in January. We've been coming to the Marquis for three years and the rooms, service, and hotel in general are consistently great! The elevators take some getting used to, but the system is wonderfully slick once you have it down. The rooms are large by NYC standards, and the hotel is really centrally located and close to many subway lines. If the weather is not too blustery, I tend to walk everywhere and love the fact that the Marquis is right smack in the center of Times Square. An added benefit, the Marquis is right next to the temporary TKTS booth and right across the street from the permanent booth location."

Great Location

Reviewed by coreyann on July 25, 2007

coreyann's rating:

"The Marriott Marquis is in a perfect location for those wanting to be right in the midst of things. You can't get more "in" NYC than being right in Times Square! I would highly suggest this hotel to those that are planning on doing a lot of Broadway shows as they are all located within walking distance of this hotel (one is even in it!) and the TKTS booth (discount tickets) is on the hotel grounds as well. However, the one downfall to this hotel is the elevator system. It is a MESS! I will also state that the parking is a mess. They need clearer directions on where to park for valet parking. I ended up in a different lot than the hotels because I ended up on the wrong side after 45 minutes of traffic! Still a great place to stay, but remember - this location comes with a price! "

Marriott Marquis

Reviewed by folashade on January 13, 2007

folashade's rating:

"There is nothing to make you say wow at this hotel. The bedding is much improved since they have swapped out all of the old bedding for the new Marriott bedding. They have also installed a new elevator system which is a bit of a pain and confluted. They have a nice size fitness center that overlooks the hustle and bustle of Times Square. If you want to be in the thick of Times Square then this is the hotel for you"
