Rising over Midtown, equidistant to both Grand Central Station and the United Nations, the sleek Alex Hotel boasts a splendid lobby with Danish modern-style furnishings, orchids, and a fireplace. The soothing theme continues on the floors above, with rooms, suites, and apartments tastefully designed by David Rockwell. The luxurious bathrooms feature limestone baths and Frederick Fekkai products. Located as it is near the heart of Midtown, Manhattan’s busiest business district, The Alex is perfect for those here on business trips – and with expense accounts, because, as with most of NYC’s upscale hotels, the rooms don’t come cheap. The Alex is also a prime spot for visitors here for longer stays, with apartments and suites fully equipped with top-of-the-line kitchenettes that would make Martha Stewart proud, complete with Subzero refrigerators, Advantium ovens, and Miele dishwashers. The hotel offers creative packages, such as The Alex Classic Martini package, which includes a night in a one-bedroom suite, The Alex martini kit, and a full American breakfast for two (just what you’ll need for your martini hangover). Luxury may have a price, but at The Alex, it’s worth every penny.

Perfect For Our Family

Amy's rating:

"I stayed at The Alex last week with my husband and two children. We had a two bedroom two bath suite with living room and full kitchen. It was clean and quiet with wonderfully soft bedding. It has floor to ceiling windows and we had a perfect view of the Chrysler building. It was an easy walk to shopping, Central Park and Times Square. The United Nations is just down the street. The staff was wonderful and friendly and remembered us each time we returned to the hotel. The only negatives that we found were slow elevators and room service food that left a great deal to be desired. The positives greatly outweighed the negatives and I will definitely stay at the Alex again and recommend it to anyone traveling to New York."
