In the history of American sports there have been many dynasties and even more champions, but there is only one New York Yankees. No team in any sport is more storied, more famous, or more celebrated than the Yanks. Approach the stadium for the first time and a childish excitement grabs even the most dispassionate sports fan. The giant Louisville Slugger greets fans outside a stadium devoid of corporate naming. This is pure baseball: Yankee Stadium. This team embodies baseball history and embraces its own. A huge section of the stadium is devoted to Yankee greats including Ruth, Mantle, and DiMaggio. These iconic legends once made diving catches and hit towering home runs on this very field. Even if you aren’t the baseball fan dying to take in a game, the stadium offers plenty in the way of food, including traditional ballpark fare and even authentic Italian delicacies at Mike’s Deli, made famous in the Bronx. From the mystique of Yankee Stadium to the electricity of the thousands who congregate in the Bronx, the magic that is Yankee baseball will envelope anyone.

It's Baseball.

derntyspoils' rating:

"First off, only people who like baseball should be going to yankees stadium, because its a bseball stadium. If you do go, its a great time. The crowds are always loud and exiciting and of course you are going to be watching the new york yankees, one of the best teams around, what more could you ask for. One thing: all the food is very expensive."

Bleachers no fun for family

Reviewed by oswaldxxl on June 26, 2008

oswaldxxl's rating:

"While Yankee Stadium seemed to be very cool the first time I went (with friends, in the regular seats), I was very disappointed with my experience when I took my whole family to a game and we sat in the bleachers. I realize that most bleacher seats aren't comfortable and give you a poor view of the game (although this was a really poor view), but since I took my whole family from St. Louis to New York, I was especially disappointed that we couldn't visit the rest of the stadium. I haven't been to another stadium where bleacher tickets don't let you wander the back tunnels to the stadium, use guest services (like stroller checking), and visit the better concession stands."

Baseball History

Reviewed by komodokd on February 10, 2007

komodokd's rating:

"Be sure to see this stadium before the new Yankee Stadium is built in the near future. So many historic moments happened here. One nice spot to stop by before or after the game is monument park to see the plaques of the great Yankee players. On special days some of the retired players come and play with the current members of the team. The 2008 all-star game will be played here. I can’t wait."
