Summary of Central Park Wildlife Conservation Center
Central Park Wildlife Conservation Center
Fifth Avenue and 64th Sts
New York, NY 10023

This Central Park zoo has a smart, eco-friendly image. Animal cages have been dispensed with in favor of open-air habitats, water and pseudo-forests. The Center is divided into three major territories: the Polar Circle, the Temperate Territory and the Tropic Zone, all of which encircle the central Sea Lion Pool. In the Polar Circle, glass walls allow you to see penguins and polar bears swimming just inches from your face. See their website for admissions and further information.
