The Javits Convention Center was designed by architect I.M. Pei and built in the 1980s. It is a massive steel and glass structure covering five city blocks between the 34th and 39th streets, and somewhat removed from the subway system and the heart of the city. It primarily showcases trade shows such as the New York International Boat Show, the New York International Auto Show, Internet World and PC Expo.

Lots of space

komodokd's rating:

"I usually go here for the Photo Expo and digital life each year. The convention center has more than enough space for conventions. The place is beautiful from the inside and out. The location is a few city avenues away from a subway, so its about a 10 minute walk. But the people who attend trade shows are usually provided a free shuttle or just take a cab."

Great venue for trade show

"Came here for a trade show a few years back. Massive building built by famed architect I.M. Pei. The show I went to was well set up. Plenty of options for eating and snacking throughout the day."
