Located in Central Park, this outdoor rink is one of the citys premier ice skating spots. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and amateurs are certainly welcome. There is a snack bar and lockers available. Try to visit on the weekdays, as the weekends bring large crowds and lines. Skate rentals and lockers are available. During the off-season, the space becomes a roller rink (call for hours and details).

"The rink is well maintained and the rink is usually smooth enough even with heavy traffic. A rental and admission will cost around $13. The rink is a good size, but part of it may be closed off for skating lessons. If you like to people watch this is one of the best spots. The skates that are availabe for rental are comfortable and fit like a sneaker. Just be sure to ask for the hockey style skate. The skyline of the city from the rink at night is gorgeous."
