Summary of Les Halles Park Avenue
Brasserie Les Halles on Park Avenue South, like its sister restaurants in Miami and Washington DC, has long been known for informal French fare in a warm and convivial setting, and Les Halles Downtown brings that winning combination to lower Manhattan along with some new touches. Les Halles evokes the atmosphere of the brasseries in the old market district of Paris, where the cream of society, stopping for a bite after a night on the town, would sit next to workmen having their breakfasts, and truckers finishing their shifts, and artists drafting creatively. In this spirit, Brasserie Les Halles serves continuously from noon to midnight, seven days a week. Known for a creativity that extends well beyond the kitchen, the Les Halles Restaurants are also the home base of Chef-at-Large Anthony Bourdain, author of the best selling Kitchen Confidential (Bloomsbury, May 2000) and host of TV Food Network’s “Cook’s World Tour,” and co-author with Lajaunie of the Brasserie Les Halles Cookbook.
