This trendy teashop owned by techno-pop star Moby appears to be something straight out of the West Coast. A vegetarian and largely vegan joint with 96 selections of tea is a refreshing addition to the Lower East Village. Despite the overwhelming menu, the atmosphere is the definition of minimalism. Clean walls, chrome, and only four tables make up the “teany” digs. Sample the non-turkey club or a crostini with cucumbers and white bean paste. Surprisingly, the menu will satisfy, if not surprise, any carnivore nosher. The Earl Grey Crème is the best-selling tea, and the Silver Needle is chock full of antioxidants. Spend your night partying like a rock star? Sip the Tea for the Liver to ease that morning after hangover. Not enough? Try the hair of the dog and choke down a Belgian beer or champagne mojito. The owner has been known to stop by, so you might get the chance to check out that smooth dome in the flesh.
