"Across the street from Penn Station, Tir Na Nog is an Irish pub/ restaurant which is a good place to relax for a drink or a meal if you are a commuter, before or after events at Madison Square garden or just to meet friends. I use it for meeting friends from New York since it is an easy commute from New Jersey. It offers a good selection of appetizers but a limited list of entrees, including strip steak, several fish dishes, traditional sheperd’s pie and even a moderately priced burger. On a recent visit, I had the hanger steak ($21.95) and my friends chose shepherd’s pie, crusted salmon and the burger plate. The steak was tasty but a little stringy but the salmon and sheperd’s pie entrees were mouth- watering. The bar has a broad selection of beers on tap.
A bonus is the great service by pretty, young Irish waitresses. I’ve visited Tir Na Nog several times and haven’t been disappointed."
