Summary of Toys 'R' Us Times Square
Celebrate your inner kid with a romp through Toys “R” Us Times Square, the largest toy store in the world, featuring a 60-foot Ferris wheel twirling in a three-story atrium, an animatronic dinosaur and, to the delight of little girls everywhere, a life-sized Barbie dollhouse. The brand-name mania is tiresome – the Toys “R” Us logo, with that kid-friendly backwards “R”, is emblazoned repeatedly across the facade – but the little ones will hardly care, such is their eagerness to enter the dazzling, brightly lit playland. To that end, Toys “R” Us has certainly succeeded, making it all about the experience, rather than the products themselves. Adults will enjoy the massive store for the visual effects and soaring architecture alone. The entire space is awash in state-of-the art lighting, video panels, interactive gadgets, and bouncy, hummable tunes emanating from stereo speakers. If you’re here with kids, prepare for the inevitable purchase, or two, or three.
