NY dog spa and hotel should be shut down

"No rating for this horrible place. Our dog boarded at New york Dog Spa and hotel a few years ago and he got really sick. We took him to the hospital and found out 2 other dogs from the "spa" DIED!! Our dog made it, but we are bringing up this situation now because we found out he as tumors on the bladder and can be caused from the time he was at the "spa." The dogs who died, deteriated so fast they thought it was some kind of chemical from the "spa." It was a horrific time we went through and they would not disclose any information exactly what happened to the dogs. I do not know how this place is still getting ratings...it is truly unfair."

Really awfull place for your loving dog

"I have a Golden Retriever named Mambo who I took to the New York Dog Spa and Hotel on 25th St for about 8 months since he was 5 months old thinking this was a safe place for him to play with another dogs but unfortunately I was DEAD WRONG. After two incidents with my dog at this place where Mr. Jessani, one of the staff members at the New York Dog Spa and Hotel told me that THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT, I decided to take my dog out of that place and here a copy of the letter I wrote to them that will give you an idea of what is going on in that place:Mr. Jessani: As you know, this is the second such incident in the past five months and this time the consequences are far more serious: The first time some dog attacked my dog Mambo and he was cut just less than half an inch off his eye, this time you are telling me he got tangled with some other dog and as a result Mambo is disfigured in that he has lost a front incisor tooth and he has been bitten three times. The reason we brought Mambo to the Dog Spa was to avoid exactly these types of incidents. Regardless of what happened (and, truly, it does not matter whether there was some type of fight or bizarre "entanglement" between the two dogs), the people at the Dog Spa are supposed to be the "experts" in reading what the dogs in their groups are doing and to avoid these things before they can occur. I truly suspect no one was watching at the time because had someone been in the room with the dogs, this would have easily been avoided. After two incidents in only five months, there is no more "peace of mind" in leaving Mambo there and we simply cannot trust the Dog Spa.When I arrived I found Mambo with his neck chained against a wall with a rope approximately 18 inches long, where he could not lay down or get comfortable despite the pain he was in.Needless to say, Mambo won't be returning to the Dog Spa. Given the rate of incidents, he would not survive another two years of whatever is happening there."
