"Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn at Kitty Hawk was just a one-nighter before we checked into our house in Corolla but it was great. The beach is beautiful, the pier is gorgeous, the pool is great and the exercise room was well-equipped. There was a wedding reception at the hotel the night we stayed and the attendees were out in the garden, outside our balcony, and were a bit rambunctious. Around 2 a.m., I went down to the front desk and asked when I might be able to actually sleep. They were apologetic and to my surprise, took 50% off my rate for the night. That was incredibly generous, in my opinion. I’d never received that type of service at a hotel before.I weven considered extending our stay after our week in Corolla and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn again. But we had to get home – back to the real world."
