Great fun... and it's free!

coreyann's rating:

"Jockey's Ridge State Park is one of the few wonders of the world that you can visit for free. This is the largest moving sand dune on the east coast and its formation is always changing and moving. From year to year, the dune is different so each visit is never quite the same. The kids will love sliding back down the hill or flying kites from the top. The adults will love the view of both the ocean and sound. A must-see place for a sunset during your stay on the Outer Banks. Also offered are kid and adult tours throughout the summer season. If you are seeking thrills, Kitty Hawk Kites/Sports across the highway offers hangliding from the top of the smaller part of the dune for a nominal fee. "
