Disappointment

Both the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Guggenheim have substantial portions of their collections 'unavailable for viewing' on the dates I'll be in NYC.  I was determined to see at least one of the two, since they're the only major museums left I've never been to, but it hardly seems worth bothering if so little is on view.  So now I have an entire day to decide what to do with.  I could go back to the Cloisters, which is really beautiful, or back to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.  Or I could try to get a last-minute ticket for a matinee on Broadway and spend the rest of the day wandering around, looking for interesting stores and restaurants.  But it might be cold there on March 5th -- maybe too cold for walking aimlessly for hours.  There's always Macy's, I suppose.  Or the public library.  Never been to either of those.

Off to browse for possibilities, I guess...
