Michigan's "Little Bavaria"
Liederhosen-clad waiters and polka music blaring from loudspeakers as you walk from overpriced souvenir store to overpriced fudge shop is not a vacation paradise for anyone who doesn’t have little kids they need to distract for a few days. If you do, then Michigan’s “Little Bavaria” will probably meet your needs.
They have a couple of half-decent bakeries uptown and a couple of good hotels. One of those hotels now features an indoor water-park, complete with slides, and the other has an enormous arcade they call the “family fun center.” Plus, there’s Bronner’s, the “world’s biggest Christmas store” with lights, trees, ornaments, etc. in great variety and abundance.
For adults, the only real draw is the very large outlet mall a short drive out of town.
