South Street Seaport Museum
Mall, not museum.
I never managed to get into the couple of galleries they have. I tried on two separate days when the galleries were supposed to be open and they were closed. They also have some ships you can supposedly tour--maybe a person would have better luck finding them available for viewing in warmer months. Occasionally they have folk music concerts in a little hall by the museum galleries, and those are quite nice and very cheap. But odds are you'll only find out if you happen to wander into the building by accident when one is taking place like I did--no sign was outside announcing that anything was going on in there! It's as if they don't want anybody to show up.Overall, I found this 'museum' a long walk from the subway station for absolutely nothing.
