"I live in Hershey, and I must say that Hershey is a really nice place to live. It’s a lot of traffic and crowds for the summer time, But the park itself is getting a serious upgrade this summer – its own waterpark! If you go to HersheyPA.com, they show all the new things coming to the park this year, and it looks like it should be cool. The park is targeted towards families with younger children, but I’m 19 and still have fun there with my friends too. It’s not a huge park that takes days to do, but it’s a nice idea to stay 2 days so you can do most everything the first day and then the 2nd day do anything you didn’t get a chance to and then go back and do the favorites.
A word of advice – If you’re going here during the summer, the best time to go is a Sunday. It’s usually the least crowded day, and Saturday is the worst day to go. The park also has a halfday pass where you can go after dinnertime and stay until it closes (usually around 11pm) and that’s usually less crowded too, plus it’s not as hot outside and only half the price. And another thing most people don’t know – each person going into the park is alowed to bring 1 waterbottle, so you don’t have to pay the ridiculous $3.50 a bottle. And if you’re going to Hershey for a concert at the stadium or something, you get a ticket for the park 1/2 off for the day of the show.
Also, when you buy a HP ticket, you can get into Zoo America for free. It’s a small zoo of North American wildlife, it’s great for kids, and it’s usually not too crowded. Also, it’s a lot easier to exit the park (and return into) then walking to the front of the park again. And if you don’t want to pay a lot of money for a little bit of OK food, when you exit through the Zoo, there is a Red Robbins (good burger place you can sit down and relax) right down the road that takes 5 minutes to walk to. You can sit down and have a good meal and end up paying the same price you would for inside the park, except you get air conditioning, better food, and relaxation without people screaming on rides."
