"“Never again” is what me and my husband said as we left the parking lot with our two young children and my pregnant belly on that near one hundred degree day in late June of 2006. We could not believe that we just spent nearly two hundred dollars of our money to go walk around a very filthy, teenie amusement/water park. We thought maybe for such a horrible time we were maybe going to get lucky on our way out and Sesame Place was going to pay us our two hundred dollars back and say “oh, by the way, here is another two hundred dollars for making you come to this place in the first place”. Nope. Not the case. The lowdown….Way way way way way overcrowded. Too tiny of a place for that many people. It should have been capped for capacity. I could not have imagined what would have happened had they had to evacuate or something. There was no place to sit the ENTIRE time that we were there. Not once. I was eight months pregnant at the time and you couldn’t even turn in a circle without bumping into someone or something. They have this waterpark there and you couldn’t even stand, that’s right, stand in the water without getting stepped on. There was no place to put belongings. The place was filthy filthy filthy. Trash everywhere and for some reason lots of high schoolers. Since when did Big Bird become a teenagers biggest fan? The crowd was just not right for what you would think would be a bunch of children between the ages of a few months up to eight years old or so (and their parents). Instead, we found it to be very ghetto. We have heard this from many others as well. If you do go here (please, don’t) bring change with you. Yes, pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. You see, when you want to purchase that bottle of Dasani (because you are losing so much water walking around trying to find a place to sit) you need to add the tax to it. So, your two dollar bottle is two dollars and seven cents. You may think that is not a big deal, but believe me, when there are fifteen people in line in front of you and everyone is fiddling around with change, you will see that it can take eternity to get that bottle of water so that you can keep on walking to find the main entrance to exit the place. The best part of our day (and the children) was getting into our car. We paid fifteen dollars to park it. I now know why..this was thee best part of Sesame Place! Yes, getting back to your car! Our children hated the ‘Place’ as much as we did and our family vowed to never go back. We have done our best to get the word out to others so that they do not make the same mistake that we did. Our entire day was ruined. We were there for an hour and ten minutes before we decided to leave. Keep in mind, fourty-five of those minutes was standing in line waiting to purchase a bottled water. The other twenty-five was walking around just trying to find a place to go where someone wasn’t in you personal space. At best, this was what I would call a high school rave or something. Not a place for preschoolers and grade school children. Not to mention a lack of safety violations. If you go, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Of course, you may be safe going on a ten degree day in the middle of January!"
