Summary of North Star Bar
Arguably the best place to catch small shows in Philadelphia, the North Star Bar offers a cavernous stage and dance floor, offset by two bars, pool tables and enough bar stools for a small army of beer-swilling carousers. Not for the faint of heart, the best place to check out an old or new favorite band at The North Star is the upstairs balcony. The ceilings are high and the drop is daunting but the view is unforgettable as you watch one of the many incredible and original acts that pass through the North Star’s doors each weekend, including the likes of the White Stripes, Southern Culture on the Skids and local darlings the Teeth. Beyond a great music scene, The North Star has much to offer by way of food and drink. Pints of regional brews from Yards and the Brooklyn Brewery are tops on the ever-changing list, and the cheap and delicious sandwiches are not to be missed.
