"Not too far from the main part of Davao you will find a place called the Japanese Tunnel. This is a historic location made into a tourist spot. The Japanese made this tunnel to hide out and store various items during World War II. It has been said that Filipino prisoners of war actually dug this tunnel out for the Japanese. They also have a resort with not too many rooms but also a pool. Along with overnight accommodations they have a Japanese restaurant which also serves many different types of food other than Japanese. The food there definitely is good but we were not able to be inside the restaurant since there was a wedding at that time. We did sit in the coffee shop but order it through that came from the restaurant. I can tell you the food was very good. The historic implications of the tunnel make this place rather interesting to people that like to learn about World War II. The tunnel really does not take that long to go through since its not very big but it was definitely interesting. It seems that the person that led us through the tunnel could have a prepared talk that told more about who, when, why, how etc. about the tunnel. I actually had to ask questions. It is possible that this person was a substitute for a regular person that gave tours. I really don't know. Anyway, I did enjoy going in but I think it would've been more interesting if the tour guide gave a lot more background."
