"When I found this hostel on the internet it boasted clean rooms, a friendly staff, and appropriate for families. When I called and told them how long I would check in the promised me a fifteen percent discount. When I arrived the neighborhood seemed very dangerous and unsafe. My room was not clean at all in fact there were roaches and mice running around every where. The gave me a receipt not even an official receipt from what I learned. I paid them for a months worth of cooking gas as well. After eighteen days the gas ran out and they demanded more money although I paid for a month. I refused to pay base on our agreement. The then proceeded to alter my receipt to reflect a different day to compensate for the money they feel I owed them for gas based on their reneged agreement. When I went to clarify my checkout date by showing them my original unofficial receipt I discovered that the staff stole the original receipt out of my room. I was forced to check out two days earlier and as my other reservation did not begin until two days later I was forced based on the lack of affordable places to stay to pay them again. When I requested to speak to the manager I discovered that the manager and the staff where related and in colusion together. When I requested to speak to the owner they never replied. When I finally met a man refuted to be the owner he lied and said he was not the owner and promised to reply to my emailed complaint. Then to make matters worse there is a man here who calls himself Weng preying on foreign tourists by pretending to be a christian and scamming people out of their money. To make matters worse the Hostel is aware of this man and refused to warn the guests about him or call the police to report him. They think it is up to the guests to call the police and state they will confirm that this guy is a criminal. The only problem is they never tell the guests they can call the police to report him. This place is a travelers nightmare. If that is not the worst then this place is also full of prostitutes and drug dealers who rent their rooms for a few hours at a time , leave the bathrooms filthy, and used condoms on the floor. If you don't like cigarette smoke there is no designated smoking area and the guest leave treils of ashes, smoke and cigarette butts every where. Althought this place advertises that they are foreigner friendly none of the staff or administrators speak a word of english. Please,please,please, spread the word about this place so foreign travelers never ever stay at this horrible place. I have been encouraged to take my complaints to the U.S. Embassy which I will. Until then I will continue to travel the world and still enjoy myself inspite of what happens. The Philippines has become very dangerous for foreigners. Tourists have been robbed, Kidnapped from buses, and outright killed. Just check international news where you will find out that three foreigners were just killed by protesters. A women who was here as a missionary was beat to death with a rock, and three tourists were forced off of a bus hog tied then put in a van and never seen again. These are events that have recently been reported in the news since I have been here in the Phillipines. Not to mention when you go to extend your visa immigration is extremely expensive. Every one from taxi drivers to store keepers raise their prices just for tourists as they believe we are very rich. There are countless number of homeless, and hungry people here. Which is sad because it seems like they have alot of tourism, but the people who live here never reap the benefits. That concludes my review although sad, but true. "
