"When my parents and I traveled to Poland last winter we wanted comfort within a reasonable budget. Hotel Polonia really was a great deal for a three star hotel. The location couldn't be better- it was walking distance to the main bus station and theres one of the most fantastic (and cleanest, and biggest) indoor shopping malls I've seen in Europe just around the corner, literally. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to see in the city except for one church on the outskirts, which the hotel gave us detailed directions to via public transportation. The staff was more than accomodating to our needs and a great buffet breakfast was included in the price (not sure if that's changed since). They front desk is also able to schedule a taxi for a group to go to Auschwitz, the Wieliczka Salt Mines, Czestochowa (where the Black Madonna painting is housed), Nowa Huta, etc. And no, it's not as expensive as you think! To get to Auschwitz and to Czestochowa we took a taxi and for the amount of time on the road and the fact that the driver waits for you until you're done looking around, it was a darn good deal. You can reach their website at www.hotel-polonia.com"
