The Dom Pedro Baia Club is a modern high rise hotel overlooking the beach of Machico Bay, sited just outside the Machico fishing village and five kilometres from Funchal airport. This ten floor hotel features 218 guestrooms, all of which include simple, functional decor, with cool tiled floors, beige walls and wood furniture. Some rooms have balconies with views of the mountains or sea. All rooms are equipped with satellite television, direct dial multi line phones, complimentary Internet connections and clock radios. There is also a scuba diving centre on site. Staff at the front desk are on hand to organise transport to and from the airport and arrange babysitting and dry cleaning services. The closest airport is Funchal Madeira International, which is five kilometres away, and can be reached by car in approximately five minutes.
