"We ate here several times during a 2 weeks period 'off season' and thoroughly recommend it.. The staff are attentive but not intrusive and speak excellent English. The food is SUPERB!! Crab or lobster picked from a tank and tasting so much better than any we've had in UK. The Shellfish Rice 'A Lagosteira' is full of shellfish and the sauce is quite delicious, served with Piri Piri sauce in a jar. The Fish of the Day is always good and cooked to perfection with olive oil and sea salt. Fresh fish never tasted better. Whilst choosing your meal a bowl of carrot slices and mixed olives in garlic, herbs and oil, appears with a basket of bread. I would normally not dream of eating olives as I have always found the flavour unpalatable, but found myself eating them and, what’s more, enjoying them!!Although we did not try any meat dishes they looked very good and seemed popular with other diners. They are also exceedingly patient with Brits who come in and order Lamb Chops, offering mint sauce!! Wine and water glasses are recharged before they become empty and plates cleared with speed once finished with. The wine list is excellent and some are available in half bottles – I particularly enjoyed the dry white as it compliments the seafood perfectly. There is a wide choice of desserts, both Portuguese and ‘generic’ (like Vienetta) and coffee is available in many forms, including with liqueur added. I enjoyed their version of cappuccino, which has a thick head of whipped cream. With the bill they serve a small glass of either Port or the local Almond liqueur - a heavenly end to the meal. There is a large TV in both dining rooms the sound was low and we were able to choose a table where we could not see either so did not find it intrusive."
