World famous zoo

I grew up in San Diego, the the zoo is probably the best one I have ever been to! Back when I was in school there, if you were under 16, admission was free. That is not the case any more! Although it costs quite a bit to get in now, it is well worth the price; but be prepared to do A LOT of walking. The best thing to do is to buy the package deal that includes the bus and the sky tram. The bus gives you an overview of the park and you can go back to visit the areas you are interested in. The sky tram can take you to the outer areas and now they have a bus, if you purchased the package deal, that you can hop on and off of. Because the zoo is so big, this works out real well. Plan to visit the pandas early on, the line gets pretty long later in the day and they move you through fairly quickly. Don't just take the time to look at the animals, the plants throughout the zoo are also fantastic. If you have kids, you won't want to miss the Children's zoo or the sealion show; they are fun to see.

Would I recommend the zoo? You bet I would! They have done so much to make it a world famous zoo!
