CNN Center
Behind the scenes
Since retiring, my husband has been known to sit and watch CNN for two or three hours at a time, so we had to go tour CNN Center while we were in town. At the beginning of the tour, you ride up an eight-story escalator, which I thought was fun, but I think it unnerved Dale a little. The tour lasted less than an hour, and we got a behind-the-scenes look at how CNN works. We enjoyed seeing how they gather information and put it together for their anchors. The sets are much smaller and simpler than you’d think from seeing them on TV. There was a live broadcast happening while we were there, so we got to stop and watch that for a few minutes, as well.
