My husband and I spent ten lovely, romantic days at the Negril Tree House Resort back in 1998, and I still long to return. It took a night to get used to the sound of chirruping frogs - the first time I heard them I thought we were surrounded by little birds! The decor was wonderful, not over the top touristy but simple. We could lie on the beach everyday, swim with the starfish and German tourists, visit with the locals, hire a driver to take us into the mountains. The restaurant was NOT open a lot, but we found tons of local places to walk to for jerk chicken, callaloo, special cake, breakfast, coffee, etc. The staff stayed out of our way, and we stayed out of theirs. We could shop at the local grocery and keep bowls of fresh fruit to eat or give to the maids. Our room was quiet,
