Sedona
Sedona in Early May
Sedona in early May is a visitor’s paradise – before all the other tourists hit town. There is plenty of open parking in the early morning downtown. It was calm, pleasant weather, blooming desert plants. We had our Jeep tour to ourselves, and the guide was able to take us to some extra special locations outside town, tell us extra personal stories, and share extra time with us. Nature was ours alone. I couldn’t believe that Sedona was actually even more beautiful than I had been hearing from friends who’d been there. You can reach for a spiritual experience, an outdoors experience, an art experience, plenty of exercise and friendly people. I hate to think what this beautiful space must be like at the height of congested tourist season!
My husband and I plan to go back for his birthday again on May 6. We stayed at The Southwest Inn At Sedona – a really lovely bit of perfection up the hill from downtown – and will stay there again. I recommend the area to anyone interested in photography, handmade original artwork, touristy chachkas, a Western experience, a romantic getaway. Prices can be very reasonable to sky’s the limit.
