South City Kitchen

Southern comfort

When I’m angling for a taste of black-eyed peas or buttermilk fried chicken, I come to South City Kitchen, where Southern classics – and that famous hospitality – are served up with a smile. The best appetizers on the menu are the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and the cornmeal crisped oysters. The specialty of the house of – sautéed shrimps and scallops over grits with garlic gravy – is worth the trip alone, as is the awesome chocolate pecan pie. I tell ya – after all that, a long nap and some adjusting of the belt buckle are definitely in order.
