Great place for a run

The concrete jungle sprawls just a few blocks inland, but you wouldn’t know it in Battery Park. For my morning run, I head to this downtown park, where the mile-long esplanade is flanked by multimillion-dollar condos and the river. The breezes coming off the water kill my sweat, and seeing Lady Liberty in the distance is always good inspiration for pushing on for that extra mile. Afterward, I wind down on one of the park benches, surveying the passing boats and wishing I were out on mine.
