This photo was taken in Kokhna village by Sakura where 'time stands still' This village dates back to Neolithic times. Their squatting loos may be primitive but spotlessly clean.Farming is done by the old fashion method with buffalo+hoe. The Newari women do all the hard labours, spending hours in the fields. It is quite a sight when you see the ladies, all march up with bundles of harvest on their backs, then spread them out in the sun to dry+ripen, then thresh+willow them manually. Mustard oils can be seen extracted from start to finish with ancient wooden mechanism. You have to see this for yourself inorder to appreciate their stamina.
