Replacement phone gets waylaid in Tennessee

My phone gets stolen, I call to get a replacemnt phone, and they tell me it's going to take one day.  it's now going on 3 days.  I thought I'd share this story with everyone because in a small way, it's funny. Apparently DHL picked up the package, and then it got stuck in a warehouse in Tennesse due to heavy snow. When it finaly gets out of Tennessee, it end up getting sent to the San Jose faclility instead of the Fremont faclity where I...

A great place to go dancing on a saturday night in Sunnyale

The place where I can really dance the night away with no cover is scruffy murphy's in Sunnvyvale. Not only will the DJ play 80's music 3 hours straight if your group requests it, they will also accomodate special requests.  The place is kind of disco meets the modern era in a way. There's a 70's disco ball up on a rafter, yet the seating, is quite 90's ish in style.  The sofa seats are very comfortable after you've been dancing up a storm. The staff is...

When you travel, sometime, take your friends along.

Okay, I have mixed feelings about this. One trip I went on with some people I barely knew who were new friends. It was my Las Vegas trip.  Day two something bad happens, and I end up wandering the town by myself, convinced I need not be on a trip with friends again.  It's one year later and the trip to Encenada comes up.  I cannot express how  excited I was to go, and I told myself one more try. I have been hanging out with these people for a year.  So I end...

Funny Hotel Story

By Request: Okay, someone wanted to hear the funny hotel stories, so here is one.  We were trying to surspise someone with a surprise birthday party at one of the hotels in Fremont. I can't remember tha name of it right now.  So we were all waiting for Penny to get to the party with her husband, and her sister left to go to parking lot to check on something as Penny and James were pulling up.  I was also outside, trying to run without my heels to my car and back because...

Gusto Travel and the theory of Travel 2.0

Here's my spin of the buzz.  I disagree with Arthur Frommer for making it sound like someone from the travel publication world or having that type of degree would be the professional opinion
of what makes or breaks a hotel, or travel destination. I think like Gustonian said, that when you're looking for a place to stay,
it's good to get a professional opinion of someone that lives in the area, and look at reviews of people's personal experiences, not what a...

7 places to stay Internationally...

Here's the low down on these places.  I researched this as people have reviewed these places, either in gusto travel or beyond, and they all had good exeriences.  I also happen to know that people will pay money to get the 7 places to travel in travel magazines, but why pay for it it when you can get it here for free.  One destination of my top seven, I couldn't remember so I added Athens Greece.  It's one of my personal favorites to go see some day. ...

Six Places I would return to in a heartbeat...

We all talk about the places we would like to go. Sometimes we forget to tell the people in our lives about the palces that we would return to, where we might have had the most fun.  So here is mine. Maui is my number one destination. I spent six days there, and five nights on an explorer package from a resort agency.  The resort was excellent. The little city Lahaina that I stayed in was the shopping city, and I went on all these tours, and sightseeing. Please check out my...

Do you want frost or snow for your winter?

Okay, folks, I know a lot of you have snow, like too much snow.  For all your snow though, sunny California is getting frost. That's right, frost every morning that lasts till about 10:00am, to 11:00am.  Cold bitter nights, but not as bad as the frost. I'd take your snow over my frost, here's why.  I love to make snowmen, and decorate them with clothes and accessories.  I also like to make snow angels, and I would love to have a snow fight with my one and...

A dog's life

So I come home from my trip, and two days later my dog gets into something, so this makes for a funny story.  Usually she just just plays with her stuffed animal bobble head by herself, but that's not what's funny.  A couple of months ago, she broke the bobble head off of the body, and proceeded to still play with the headless body by herself for weeks on end. Well last night she decided to bark at me for attention to help her fetch her bobble toy.  Well it...

Pappas and Bears

I never knew they had such a place.  They literally blow a whistle, help a women drink a tequila shot, then the wait staff literally flips the girl over one of their shoulders, all in fun, but not something you would see in Ca.  I just keep thinking, what happens in Mexico must have stayed in Mexico, because if the same thing happened out here, someone might try to get sue happy, or someone else might end up crying. What happens in one person's culture, can be an insult to...

Back From Encenada

I just got back from Encenada.  What a fun time it was.  The country was so different from ours. I have never been to a 3rd world Country, and now I feel as if I understand it so muh better. I picked up a little bit of the Mexican culture when I was there, and learned how to make the Tour of Mexico Guacaole, which is the colors of the Mexican flag.  I didn't really learn any new words.  Sometimes the maguage was ablur to me.  After one Margarita of course we...

Set Sail pass, I hope it's works!

A blog about Los Angeles, CA

I have never heard of these before, and I hope they work. If you get a "setsail pass" online for acruise that you will be taking in 48 hours, then it's supposed to cut your line wait time by a half an hour.  I have so many things to think about. i have never been a cruise before, and this is my first time visitng LA where I wasn't staying at one of my friend's houses.  I am staying in a hotel that I know nothing about, and I hope it's okay. I took a...

Share My love

I too, just wanted to share my love of this web site.  It's not often we get to tell the world what we think about a product that came out that can help us with travel, a bad place to avoid, or a really good sunny day place.  I know how hard it is to write a good review:  to say the right thing that will get people thinking, I have to see this place, or I want to avoid this pitstop.  So to all the reviewers out there. "This is your share the love...

Things to do in this life...

If your going to live a a good life, then I look at it this way, we should have a fun life and take the memories with us.  I once heard a story about two men who were about  to die, and maybe you have, too.  One lived his life and all he did was work.  The other, worked for a time, retired, and throughout his life h had went many places, and did many things.  The guy who worked all his life looked over at the guy in the hospital bed next to him and said I wish I...

What is a Gustonian?

Ahh, I decided to have fun with this one.  I came to the descision I know part of the answer, and if you all want to contribute your ideas in comments to me as to what your answer is, I am fair game. Here we go.  A Gustonian, must be a caring person.  This person must be able to see the world outside themselves.  This person should also be someone who can write and pat you on the back when the chips are down, and laugh with you, thoughout all...
