Perfect Place to Visit, Even for the Day

I have to admit that after having worked and vacationed in the Caribbean for years, some of my least favorite places to visit were in Jamaica, and Montego Bay was certainly on that list. That changed, however, the first time I visited Sunset Beach Resort & Spa. This is not only a great place to plan an entire vacation, but also a perfect day trip. As a frequent cruise vacationer, and past crew member, I've been on many ships that stop in Montego Bay for the day. My honest recommendation before going to Sunset Beach was just to stay on the ship. However, for quite some time now, whenever I'm on a ship that stops in Montego Bay, I get off first thing and stay at Sunset Beach until it's time to reboard the ship. It is a private resort that is not crowded, nor dirty. You won't be hassled to buy things while you're trying to relax, and EVERYTHING is included. If you're not staying at the resort, but you're coming from a ship, they'll let you pay a day rate, and then they treat you just like a guest at the resort. You can eat all the food and drink all the drinks (even alcohol) that you want. They have a great swim-up bar between two pools and fabulous beaches with snorkeling gear and such all included as well. You won't find a shore excursion available on the ship that is a better deal.
