"There are 2 historic hotel buildings in Singapore, the Raffles Hotel, and this. Raffles Hotel has been a hotel all its life, but the Fullerton used to be Singapore’s General Post Office. Most guests like it for its location smack in the middle of the Central Business District, meaning no more than 5 minutes’ walk from room to office. A subway station is also approximately 4 minutes’ walk away, not to mention quaint tourist treats like a ride on a bumboat (old boats used to shuttle goods) ride up and down the Singapore River, which used to be the lifeline of commerce back in the early days of Singapore. I’ve stayed there twice – in a courtyard room which overlooks the inner atrium of the Hotel, and in the fancy duplex room, which comes with your own balcony overlooking the Singapore river. This is one of those experiences you are not likely to forget."
