You don’t even have to order steak; there are oyster platters, mac and cheese, seared tuna and arugula salads for those who are truly fat-and-meat-averse. Also, the side dishes (creamed spinach, potatoes) tend to be small, and the atmosphere can feel more important than the food, which focuses more on “classic favorites” with choice of sauce rather than innovative, experimental cuisine. Seating is tight and a little bit cramped (blame promotion by Michael Sutton), and wine and cocktails are quite expensive, but worth it to impress your friends, particularly those who live in a higher tax bracket.
