Attica

Attica

quote:

Attica is two evenings rolled into one, as you can eat in the restaurant, and then boogie the night away rubbing elbows with famous names in the club. The restaurant is resolutely retro, with neon tubes and 1980s-style pictures of sax players on the walls. It serves European dishes prepared in the open-plan kitchen following an ambitious menu that doesn’t always hit the mark. However, that’s not the reason most people eat here. It’s because they are fuelling up for the night ahead, and more importantly, if you eat here, you get into the club free and without any hassle with the doormen. Under Australian owner Alex Lambrechts, Attica is certainly striving to be an A list magnet and boasts that celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Donatella Versace, Usher, Robert De Niro and Kate Winslet have strutted their stuff on the dance floor here. The dress code is smart casual, and you can bypass the queue by subscribing on the Web site and putting your name down on the guest list. Attica is part of the Feneo group of clubs, and if you’re in town for a while, and over 21 (the club’s age policy), it might be worth becoming a member. This gains you free admission to a range of clubs, from Cinnamon to Firehouse and The Penthouse, but prices are only revealed once you apply…
