Vingt Quatre
- quote:
-
For 24-hour party people, Vingt Quatre is the 24-hour eatery. Clubbers can drink before they go to dance the night away and return at 3 a.m. for the all-day and all-night brunch, or fuel up with fish and chips (fries), or a club sandwich (with more fries). It’s loud and noisy, and the persistent smokers of the past will be driven out by the new smoking ban, good for the diners who can now taste what they are eating, bad for smokers who don’t like the cold, wet pavement outside. Vingt-Quatre is one of the very few places in London to serve decent food in the small hours, and its customers are decidedly well-spoken. Don’t expect them to be dull, though, as most post-2 a.m. clients are pretty well-oiled by this time, regardless of which private school they went to as a child! Celebrities have been known to drop in too, including Atomic Kitten, Martine McCutcheon and Robbie Williams, to lounge back on the leather-clad wall seats that line this long and thin restaurant. The real die-hard clubbers will roll up at about 4:30 a.m. for a burger or citrus chicken; be careful not to use all the taxi money you had stashed away.
