A few floors up from the busy Fourth Street, the lounge offers a fireplace, stacks of magazines, cushy couches, herbal teas and a balcony where you can relax and watch stressed-out drivers in traffic below. The darkened “quiet room” doesn’t allow talking, but once you settle into one of the room’s reclining chairs, you won’t want to gab anyway. The spa offers the basics such as massages and facials, but also has a list of signature treatments including Emilee’s Intrigue, a combination of massage and hot rock therapy during which your body is covered with eucalyptus leaves and wrapped in steaming towels, and the Hunter’s Retreat, which includes a granular scrubbing followed by a cleansing with wheat stalks soaked in essential oils. Whatever you go for, you’ll get to use the locker room, a mini-spa in itself with a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, lavender-scented hot towels, and an array of skin and hair products to use, all part of the deal. The Burke Williams staff is professional, polite and always on schedule.
