"Main Street Inn is a great romantic getaway. Designed by luxury-architect&Interior designer-of-choice on Hilton Head, Group III, This is a intimate, very opulent hotel. It’s a welcome change from the “beachy” read “kitschy” ambiance often found on Hilton Head. The parlor/lounge features recycled antique Heart of Pine floors, Dupioni silk draperies, A lovely Louis XV style fireplace. European reproductions of antiques. The “library”, suitable for small functions, and again features a fireplace, cherry built-in bookshelves, and European antique reproduction features. Guest rooms are very romantic, with the decor following the same theme as the public areas. Baths are luxuriously appointed. Many rooms feature balconies, fireplaces or wooded/golf course views. There’s an incredibly beautiful and immaculately maintained Charleston-style gardens. The Cons: Far from the beach (a car is a must, too long a trip for even a bike ride), limited seating for dining, While it has potential to be a great location for weddings, the venue is quite small… a wedding of more than 40 would be pushing it, and the kitchen is quite small making food and service uneven. However, if the beach is not a priority, or you don’t mind driving there, Main Street Inn is a great romantic, luxurious hideaway."
