Old Glory in Georgetown is a fun spot for BBQ. Their White Lightning (frozen vodka lemonade) is SO good! Sticky Fingers Bakery makes sweets to die for, and they’re all vegan, so you can pretend it’s health food! Jaleo, another Jose Andres restaurant, is also excellent – a wonderful place for tapas. And Laboratorio del Galileo – it’s closed till early 2008, and it’s definitely a splurge, but watching Robert Donna cook in the private kitchen is amazing, and he’s actually very cool and interesting – not stuffy or snooty, which is what I kinda feared.
