Saugatuck Dunes State Park
The best of natural Michigan
Saugatuck Dunes State Park is, in my opinion, one of the best places to experience nature in Michigan. Just minutes from the artsy Saugatuck and also close to the quaint town of Holland, SDSP is a gem. You have wonderful hiking trails throughout a wooded area. Take the beach trail and feel your excitement mount as the path turns to sand and you begin to hear the waves on the shore. Suddenly, over the grassy dune is gorgeous Lake Michigan with an expansive white beach. The beach is fabuously secluded, with the open horizon on one side and the forest on the other. Bring a book & beach towel, kick back, and enjoy!Reviewed on: August 08, 2007

Hannah,
Thanks for your review of the Saugatuck Dunes State Park. My family drives through Saugatuck every summer on our way up to Lake Michigan, but we spend a majority of our time walking around downtown Saugatuck. We are always looking for new places to let the kids run around before we load them up in the car for the next leg of the trip. Next year we will definitely stop to explore this park!
