Real Texan Feel

The Gaylord Texan is a wonderful place to visit with many neat sites to visit not far from the hotel. The hotel rooms are beautiful and luxurious. The lobby is something to see - its like an old Texas prairieland and gorgeous huge plants behind glass with water streaming throughout the center. If you like lively mariachi bands and of course good country music then the bars are the place to perch for an evening of live entertainment. The Grapevine Mills Mall is practically right around the corner and has the Forest Cafe that has the most delicious portabella mushroom burgers on the planet plus great outlet stores. Not too far is also Bass Pro Shop that has a large fish aquarium with native texas fish swimming throughout. The Gaylord Texan offers local wine from the many wineries/vineyards in Grapevine. We spent an entire afternoon at 3 wine tastings in downtown grapevine. Of course we had to check out Grapevine Lake and had lunch at Little Pete's (which is the only restaurant directly on the water) who has delicious burgers and steaks. The Gaylord Texan is a hugely fun place to visit either to relax or go sightseeing.
