"This is a really nice place! It’s not a fancy castle, it’s more just a big manor house. It was used by the royal family as a summer residence until the ‘70s. There are beautiful gardens to walk in all around the castle, and they’re especially nice when the flowers are in bloom. I think one of the queens loved rhododendrons, so she planted all different types, and they’re just gorgeous if you come at the right time! The gardens are really big, and go all the way to the shore, so you can get a nice view of the ocean (& a totem pole, which seems a bit out of place there!). You can take tours of the inside of the house, too. It’s really nice to see the furnishings and things from the royal family. There’s a little cafe there, too, where you can eat lunch or have a coffee. Sometimes there are art fairs and things on the big front lawn, too."
