When I lived in Los Angeles, I stayed at the Rio 3 or 4 times and even though it’s off The Strip, it’s a great place to stay. The rooms are huge with great views of the mountains or The Strip. When you’re in the casino, the music and free shows keep the excitement going, which is one of the reasons to go to Vegas. The Seafood Buffet is worth the wait if you really like crab legs and peel & eat shrimp – it’s not gourmet, but above average for buffet food. I used to go to Club Rio a lot – it’s better if you’re in your 20’s and want to dance and meet younger people. The rooftop bar is very cool, though, if you want to have a drink or 2 with a small group or one other person.
