Summary of Rum Boogie Cafe
Rum Boogie Cafe
182 Beale St
Memphis, TN 38103

Rum Boogie, a Beale Street institution, is one of the oldest bars here and is usually the most hopping joint on the block. It’s a reliable spot for consistently good live music and food. It’s hard not to like a place featuring fried green tomatoes on the menu and a few dozen beers on offer. The layout at Rum Boogie is excellent, with lots of tables around a high stage, a balcony with a view from above, and even a sightline from the bar in the adjoining room. If you have the feeling something is hanging over your head at all times, it’s true: More than 100 guitars are suspended from the ceiling, signed by the likes of Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent and Lou Rawls. This ain’t no Hard Rock though, full of glass cases and fancy signs. Decipher the scribbles to figure out who signed what, then settle in for some hard-driving blues and soul music.
