Nashville is the home of country music. The city’s name is synonymous with this truly American genre of music. The must-sees for any country music lover include the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Bluebird Café. The Grand Ole Opry’s former home was the Ryman Auditorium, which it occupied from 1943 to 1974. You can catch a concert at the Ryman, which hosts many musicians from outside country music, including
David Gray and Oasis. Music Row creates stars and the Country Music
Hall of Fame immortalizes them; to see the stars of tomorrow, a visit
to the Bluebird Café is essential – Garth Brooks is one of many who
sang here before making it big.
You should also be sure to check out the downtown area called the
District. It’s filled with specialty shops, restaurants and plenty of
entertainment options. The District includes Second Avenue, Lower
Broadway, and Printer’s Alley. Unwind at B.B. King’s Blues Club or
listen to the latest local bluegrass releases at Ernest Tubb Record
Shop. Nashville is an exciting city with plenty to offer residents and
visitors. If you enjoy country music, plan ahead and get tickets to a
concert while you’re there. You’ll also find Southern rock, gospel,
folk and bluegrass artists performing regularly as well.
