Summary of Mambu
In a historic Victorian house amid bland medical offices between West End Avenue and Church Street, Mambu is a gastronomic trip around the world, with a long layover in Asia. . The food has as much personality as the interior, where the original rooms each have plenty of character and warmth. Gyonza shrimp dumplings, paella, and a refined fish and chips are liable to show up on the menu the same night, with a wide range of martinis adding more variety. The furniture seems to be a mixed collection of castoffs, and the seating in some rooms would charitably be called “intimate.” The two chefs mix it up with customers and display an obvious love for making diners happy. Make weekend reservations early for Mambu.
