Summary of Mirror
Mirror started out as purely a tapas restaurant, and has since added more traditional entrees, with a different country featured each month. The small plates aesthetic is still alive and well, though, so this 12 South neighborhood gathering spot is a good place to try a bit of this and that without making a big commitment. An impressive mirror mosaic covers one wall of the square room, and the comfy couches in two corners add to the lounge feel. A well-stocked bar has a small but well-chosen wine list and a few specialty cocktails for the weekend crowd. The blue cheese polenta fries have been featured on Food TV, and several desserts are good enough to make regular diners pare back the tapas to leave plenty of room. At Mirror, local residents who have walked over for a bite join an interesting mix of deal brokers, young couples and narcissists who love all the reflections.
